A Wintry Night Scene featuring Simon Says Stamp’s COZY WISHES

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

Hello everyone! December is just around the corner and the countdown to Christmas will soon begin! This is the week that I have set aside time to get my Christmas cards in the mail ... one thing off the list! It is a busy time of year and I admit that I love all the planning and preparations! Amidst all that I hope to get done, I have a few cards and gift tags planned over the days that lead up to Christmas to share with you. Today's Christmas card features COZY WISHES ... a winter's night scene ... I live in the north and am inspired each night as I walk Coonhound Annie.

A panel of Bristol Smooth card stock was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Chipped Sapphire, Mowed Lawn and Shabby Shutters. The inked rectangle was created with Simon's Slimline Masks. The card stock was die cut with Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles. This inked area was spattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Brass. The bird houses and lantern were stamped with Versamark ink and gold embossed. The colouring was completed in shades of blue and dark brown for the posts and shadows on the structures. The white candle and glow from the flame were painted with an opaque water based paint, gouache.

The top of the panel was stencilled using Simon's Berries and Leaves Stencil and Nuvo Expanding Mousse Tuscan Gold. The secondary sentiment from the COZY WISHES stamp set was stamped with Black Versafine ink and clear embossed. Simon's Hope wafer die was used to cut both gold metallic card stock and foam.

The panel was mounted first on foam and then onto gold metallic card stock that measured 3 5/8" by 8 5/8". The card base is 3 3/4" by 8 3/4". The card was embellished with gold confetti topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
