Alex Syberia Design’s Holiday Release featuring Joyful Poinsettia

Hello friends! I hope you have had an opportunity to check out Alex Syberia Designs' November Holiday Release.. There is a wide range of products to meet your holiday crafting needs. Stamps, dies, stencils, hot foil plates ... this release has you covered from super sweet to gorgeous! Today's card has a mixed media vibe and features a really beautiful die set, Joyful Poinsettia.

  • The background was done on Bristol Smooth card stock using Distress Mica Spray Stains. I worked with Winterfrost and Merrymint to create a quick and easy background. The panel was oversized so I could trim it down to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" focusing on the area I liked best. This also meant I would have enough to die cut my sentiment.

  • The Joyful Poinsettia Die Set consists of 11 dies; five are petal layers. I cut each petal layer twice, except for the largest that was cut once, from Canson XL Water Colour Paper. Several leafy branches were cut.

  • The poinsettia was coloured with powdered pigments for bold colour.

  • When dry, the poinsettia petals were hand shaped and assembled offsetting one petal layer from the other.

  • Noel Die was used to cut both a section of the leftover background and black sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked.

  • The tips of the leaves of the leafy branches and the flower petals were painted with liquid adhesive and dipped in chunky glitter.

  • The background and elements were spattered with PH Martin's Bleedproof White.

  • The leafy branches were were adhered to the card front with the poinsettia in the middle. The sentiment was added to the lower, right hand side.

  • The centre of the poinsettia was mounded with gold Nuvo Crystal Drops an d left to partially set. It was then covered with matte gold half pearls.

  • A few red half pearls complete the card.
