Hello friends! Altenew’s Build-A-Garden kit for the month of July is nothing short of gorgeous! Sulphur Cosmos is a very large floral image supported with many beautiful sentiments. I love that the coordinating stencil set includes a stencil for a background. An add-on die is available to round out this kit. Love!
The cosmos floral and sentiment were stamped on white card stock.
The coordinating stencil set was used for the colouring. Mini Blending and Micro Blending Tools were used to apply inks from Rose Petal and Green Valley Fresh Dye Inks sets.
Both the sentiment and floral image were cut with the Build-A-Garden Add-On Die. These dies were also used to cut white sheet foam and the elements were stacked. The cosmos were trimmed to fit an A2 sized card
The background stencil included in the coordinating stencil set was used to apply white texture paste with a palette knife on a panel of water colour paper.
When dry, green and teal water colours were applied to the panel that had been liberally wetted with clean water. The panel was left to dry completely.
The panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base and the foam backed cosmos adhered to it. The sentiment, also foam backed, was mounted on the cosmos.
The card was embellished with Sugar Plums Enamel Dots.
Here is another sample card using Fresh Dye Inks from the newly released Northern Shore and Warm Gray collections.
