Altenew’s Cascading Vines Press Plate … quick and easy water colouring

Hello friends! I am in love with Altenew’s Cascading Vines Press Plate. It is also available as a Bundle to include a layering stencil set. But today, I am abandoning the stencils to do some quick and easy water colouring!

  • Cascading Vines Press Plate was stamped using the BetterPress Letterpress System onto a heavy weight water colour paper. The leaves were inked in a gradient using BetterPress ink Cosmic Sky, Teal Topaz and Cruise.

  • The leaves were water coloured with ink from Sweet Dream Fresh Dye Ink Bundle; Desert Night, Ocean Waves, Sea Glass. The ink pad was pressed onto a Water Palette and the colour picked up with a water colour brush.

  • When colouring, the inks were corresponded to the tone the leaves were stamped with.

  • The sentiment die is from the White Cap Peonies Add-On. I really liked the delicate, scripty font. The same inks used to stamp the image were used to colour card stock in a gradient. I just dragged the edge of the ink pad on the paper overlapping each colour.

  • The die was used to cut both the gradient, card stock and white sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked.

  • The panel was trend to 4 x 5 1/4“ and mount it on a black matted, A2 sized card base.

  • The card was embellished with crystals from Deep Sea Sapphire Gem Sparkles.
