Altenew’s Craft-A-Flower for July … Amaryllis with Video

Hello friends! I love gardening and paper crafting equally. Altenew’s Craft-A-Flower brings these two loves together. Amaryllis is a gorgeous die set with three flowers and five leaves. I appreciate how easily Altenew’s sets come together. There is always so much thought and care that goes into providing support for the crafter … the dies are grouped by individual elements and numbered in the order they go together, the keyhole system makes the alignment of the die cuts straight forward and if that’s not a enough, there are step by step, illustrated instructions included with the die set. It just couldn’t be any easier making for joyful crafting sessions!

  • The three amaryllis flowers and leaves were die cut from Bristol Smooth card stock.

  • The colouring was completed with Fresh Dye Inks and Mini Blending Brushes. The flower petals were done up in Cosmic Berry, Puffy Heart and Rose Quartz. The stamens were inked with Citrus Burst and the pistol with Eucalyptus and Forest Fern.

  • For the leaves, Forest Fern, Grass Fields and Eucalyptus were used.

  • The flowers were assembled with liquid adhesive around the keyhole die cut, and the petals popped up with small foam squares.

  • The background was created with the Fiesta Foliage Press Plate using the BetterPress Letterpress System. Forest Fern, Eucalyptus and grassy Fields were applied to the press plate randomly. The design was pressed into heavyweight, watercolour card stock.

  • The 4/4” x 5 1/2” panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base.
