Hello friends! I am happy to share a few projects with you featuring Altenew’s Craft -A-Flower for September: Hellebore. This gorgeous layering die set is made up of four flowers and two large leaves. Of course, Altenew is known for the supports that are put in place to make layering die sets come together with ease; the Keyhole System, etched numbering directly on the dies and illustrated instructions. Assembling these beautifully intricate hellebores couldn’t be any easier!
All of the flowers and leaves were cut from white cardstock and coloured with Fresh Dye Inks using small blending brushes. Two colour tones were used for each die cut to give the blooms a more natural appearance.
The leaves were coloured with Firefly and Shadow Creek from Green Valley Fresh Dye Inks.
The hellebores were inked with the following combinations; Berrylicious/Mauve (Dried Petals Fresh Dye Inks), Coral Bliss/Pink Pearl (Tea Party Fresh Dye Inks), Puffy Heart/Rose Quartz (Rose Petal Fresh Dye Inks), Terracotta/Snapdragon (Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks).
For the flower centres, Shadow Creek, Firefly, Citrus Burst and Honey Drizzle (Pocket Full of Sunshine Fresh Dye Inks) were used.
The flowers were easily assembled using the Keyhole System and referring to the etched numbering on each die.
The background for the card was ink blended using the Large Blending Brush to apply Snapdragon, Terracotta and Puffy Heart. The panel was spattered with water using a fan brush.
The panel was trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4” and adhered to an A2 sized base.
The sentiment from Timeless Sentiments 3 was cut from white cardstock and foam. The sentiment was stacked and adhered to the top of the card.
The leaves and three of the flowers were mounted with liquid adhesive. The fourth flower was adhered with a foam square.
Dew drops were added with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
Just the tag die from Scandinavian Tag Die Set was used to cut water colour paper that had been letterpressed with Firefly and Shadow Creek using the Fiesta Foliage press plate.
The sentiment from Pocket Sentiments Stamp & Die Bundle was stamped in black, cut with the coordinating die and adhered to the tag.
The leaf was adhered to the tag and the hellebore centred on it.
Gold crystals from Metallic Gold & Silver Gem Sparkles were used to highlight the sentiment.
The tag and pocket were cut from grey cardstock. The flaps on the pocket were creased and it was adhered to the tag.
A small panel was created using the Flowers and Petals Stencil Set. A pretty surprise after the recipient removes the gift card!
The sentiment from Pocket Sentiments Stamp & Die Bundle was stamped in black, cut with the coordinating die and adhered to the hellebore.
The leaf was adhered to the tag and the hellebore centred on it.
Sugar Plums Enamel Dots were used to highlight the sentiment.
Both tags were finished of with tulle for the tie.
