Altenew’s September Release featuring Craft Your Life: Mixed Blooms & Video

Updated: Sep 16

Hello friends! Welcome to Altenew’s September Release! I love everything, but I have to say at the top of my list is the project kit for this month’s Craft Your Life: Mixed Blooms combines gorgeous images with versatility.

I love the options this kit offers. The stamp set includes two large florals that can be used on their own or together, and the stencil set not only colours the stamped image, but also provides two additional floral images. The variety of sentiments included with the stamp set are perfect for Christmas or all occasion cards. You definitely get a Big Bang for your buck with this incredible kit!

  • This sweet card was created using one of the independent stencil images included with the stencil set. Stencils two and three were used for this floral.

  • There are four stencilling sections on stencil two. The last three are reserved for this image. On stencil three there are two sections that will complete the colouring of the flower centres and the foliage.

  • To colour the flowers, I used Citrus Burst, Sunray, Pink Pearl, Fresh Lemon, Snapdragon and Coral Bliss. Firefly and Fresh Fields were used for the foliage.

  • The panel was spattered with opaque white paint using a fan brush.

  • One of the sentiments included in the stamp set was stamped in black on the stencilled image.

  • The panel was trimmed down to a 3 1/2” square and adhered to a green panel slightly larger. The stacked panel was mounted on foam and then onto the upper portion of an A2 sized card base.

  • The sentiment from Timeless Sentiments 3 was cut from both green card stock and white sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked and one word adhered to the foam mounted square with the other word positioned directly on the card base.

  • The card was embellished using Radiant Gems Enamel Dots.

  • Indigo card stock was ink blended on the edges in black. The solid floral stamp was inked with Cloud White Pigment Ink.

  • The sentiment from the stamp set was embossed with silver embossing powder.

  • The outline floral stamp was stamped with black on white card stock.

  • The stencil set was used to colour the image with Dew Drops, Aqualicious, Teal Cave, Mountain Mist and Volcano Lake. The shadow areas were deepened with coloured pencils.

  • The floral and black sheet foam were cut with the coordinating die. The floral was embossed with the coordinating embossing folder and stacked. It was adhered to the card front offset from the white shadow.

  • Using the die included in the die set, sprigs and flowers were cut from silver glitter card stock, and small sprays created on either side of the floral.

  • The card was embellished with Tranquility Enamel Dots and white Nuvo Crystal Drops were used to accent some of the flowers.

  • This pretty floral spray was created independent from the stamp set using stencils four and five from the stencil set.

  • The flowers were coloured with Dusty Pink, Blush Rose, Strawberry and Berry Mocha and the foliage with Shadow Creek and Firefly.

  • The panel was trimmed to 3 1/2“ x 5 1/2“ and adhered to the right side of an A2 sized, black card base.

  • The stencilled panel was bordered with gold glitter washi tape.

  • One of the sentiments included in the stamp set was stamped in black on the stencilled image.

  • The card was embellished with the gold gems from Metallic Gold & Silver Gem Sparkles.

  • A red card stock panel, 4“ x 5 1/4“, was inked on the edges with black and the solid image from the stamp set was stamped also in black. The edges of the panel were embossed with gold embossing powder.

  • The outline floral stamp was stamped in black on white card stock and the coordinating stencil set used to colour it. For the flowers, the following inks were used; Ultraviolet, Honey Drizzle, Heartbeat and Cloud White. Firefly and Mountain Pine were used to colour the foliage.

  • The coordinating die was used to cut both the floral image and black sheet foam and stacked.

  • Both the panel and the stencilled floral were splattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Brass.

  • The panel was adhered to an A2 what sized black card base and the phone back floral offset on the shadow stamped image.

  • The sentiment from Timeless Sentiments 3 was cut from gold cart stock and black foam and stacked. The sentiment was mounted on the floral.
