BetterPressing Pigment Powder Backgrounds featuring Spellbinders’ Festive Poinsettia

Hello friends! I have another fun and easy to create Christmas card project featuring Spellbinders’ Festive Poinsettias. Except for waiting for the colour washed panels to dry, these cards would be considered quick. This would make for a great project for mass production!

  • Panels of Canson XL Watercolour paper were trimmed to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.

  • The colour wash backgrounds were created with pigment powders. For one panel, Lindy’s Magical Shakers were used; Crumpet Crumbs, Pass the Jam, Jane and Pinkies Up Pink.

  • The second panel was coloured with Color Burst Terre Verte and Sepia. Lindy’s Magical Shaker Crumpet Crumb was also added.

  • Nuvo Shimmer Powders Merlot and Cherry Bomb were applied for the final panel.

  • The panels were very saturated and left to dry for several hours.

  • The panels were letter pressed with the BetterPress System using a Full Size Black Ink Pad. To get a solid background, each panel was letter pressed two times

  • The panels were adhered to A2 sized, black card bases.

  •  Home for Christmas Sentiments is a beautiful collection of BetterPress sentiments and accompanying dies. BetterPress Plates foil beautifully and they were hot foiled with Aura Glimmer Hot Foil Roll on black card stock. The coordinating die was used to cut both the sentiments and sheet foam. The sentiments were stacked and adhered to the card front.
