Hello everyone! I have a set of mini slimline cards featuring a beautiful silhouette stamp set, Brushed Flowers. These cards are fast and easy and illustrate different ways to use silhouette images.
The second largest dIe from Simon’s Mini Slimline Rectangles was used to cut Bristol Smooth card stock. Ink was applied to panels with blending brushes; three with Simon’s PAWSITIVELY Saturated inks and two with Distress Oxides.
SSS - Cherry, Watermelon, Guava
SSS - Ocean, Surf, Seafoam
SSS - Pearfection, Limelicious, Celery
DO - Shabby Shutters, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans
DO - Ripe Persimmon, Villainous Potion, Chipped Sapphire
Before inking the blue and green panels, they were masked. Simon’s masking paper was die cut with the second largest die in the Slimline Rectangles. The mask was then cut with a smaller mini slimline rectangle. The result is two masks; the frame was used on the green card and the small rectangle masked the centre of the blue one.
For the above cards, the silhouette images were layered by stamping with the lightest ink and then with the mid and dark tones. Post It Note tape was used on the blue card to mask off the inked border before stamping. The sentiments were stamped with the darkest ink and clear embossed. The secondary sentiment on the blue card was stamped with black Versafine ink. The cards were embellished withe crystals.
The trio of cards pictured above couldn’t be any easier! The silhouette and sentiment for the red tone card was stamped with black Versafine ink. For the tone on tone card, flowers were stamped with the same ink used on the background and then clear embossed. The sentiment was stamped on vellum paper. The main sentiment was inked with the same inks to create a gradient and clear embossed. The secondary sentiment was stamped with black Versafine and also clear embossed. The images for the third card were ‘painted’ with slightly watered down white gouache and stamped. The sentiment was stamped with black Versafine. The cards were embellished with Nuvo Crystal Drops White or Morning Dew on confetti.
