Hello everyone! Do you decorate gingerbread houses for Christmas? We do … it is a family tradition that often results in something a little less than perfect … all of our creative endeavours colliding on one house! But we have lots of fun! And I had so much fun creating this card with Picket Fence Studio’s Build Me A Gingerbread House … and, if I might add, a lot less mess!
To create the background, the new Seamless Stamp, Candy Canes, was stamped with red ink. These stamps are super easy to line up for any size of panel. It was trimmed down to be the full height of an A2 sized card at 5 1/2” tall but only 3 1/2”wide. It was mounted on red glitter card stock measuring 5 1/2” by 3 1/2”. These panels were adhered to an A2 sized, top folding card base.
This sweet gingerbread house was stamped on Kraft paper with Versamark Ink and embossed in gold. The windows were highlighted with white coloured pencil and the door coloured pink. The house and white foam were die cut with the coordinating die. Several of the candies and candy canes included in the stamp set were stamped on white card stock with either red, green or pink ink. The alternating sections of stripes were coloured in with a Copic marker that coordinated with the ink. The house was decorated with the candy reserving a few to highlight the sentiment. The sentiment from Goody Goody Gumdrops was stamped with Black Hybrid Ink on white card stock and clear embossed. . The sentiment panel was mounted on red glitter paper and adhered at the bottom of the card
After the house was mounted above the sentiment it was highlighted with icing! A combination of Paper Glitz Sparkle and Paper Glaze Lux Arctic Fox were mixed together in a small squeeze bottle. This mixture was applied to all the icing details on the illustration. Little candies from Gingerbread House Candy Mix complete this 'sweet' card.
