Colouring with Arteza Markers on Simon Says Stamp’s Background Stamps

Hello everyone! Sometimes I just want to colour without a whole bunch of planning. That is when I dig out background stamps with their repeated designs. It is as easy as selecting the colour choices for one of the elements in the design and applying it to the rest that are the same. And repeat for other elements! Add in a medium like Arteza Watercolor Markers and it just doesn’t get any easier!

All of the backgrounds were stamped on Bristol Smooth card stock with Versamark ink and embossed in gold. After the colouring was complete, the panels were cut with the largest die in Simon’s Stitched Rectangles. The sentiment dies, PEACE, CHUNKY JOY and HAPPY CHRISTMAS have shadow dies to accompany the script. The shadow was used to cut both the panel and foam so they could be stacked and adhered to black card stock before being adhered to an A2 sized card base. The script sentiment was mounted on the shadow die cut and recessed in the panel. The secondary sentiment, from Simon’s WINTER BIRDS, was embossed in gold on black card stock, cut with SENTIMENT LABELS and stacked on foam.

POINSETTIA BACKGROUND

The poinsettias were coloured withRed Currant, Mulberry Red and Bubblegum Pink. The background was painted black. The script sentiment was die cut from matte gold card stock. Micro beads finished off the flower centres.

OUTLINE ORNAMENTS

This panel was coloured with Smokey, Elephant and Dolphin greys. The accents were done with Amethyst Purple, Periwinkle, Cardium Blue and Denim Blue. The background was painted black. The script sentiment was die cut from matte gold card stock. Some of the ornament designs were highlighted with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

OUTLINE MERRY CHRISTMAS

The background was painted black before the letters were coloured. The letters in CHRISTMAS was coloured alternately between Light Magenta and Currant Red. For the word MERRY, acid Green and Cyanine Blue were used. The script sentiment was die cut from Simon's Doll Pink card stock
