Hello friends! Today’s card features some new products from Crafty Meraki’s April release. Dainty Bloom is a sweet and beautiful press plate. This card has been finished off with a new die set, A2 Timeless Frames, to create a pretty background to offset the watercolouring.

A panel of BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panels was pressed with teal pigment ink.
To create the colour wash background, the panel was wetted with clean water and blue and green watercolours were dropped in. Although I tried to avoid the bloom, I didn’t worry if some of the colour moved onto the petals. I was working with my favourite set, Mijello Mission Gold.
The background was left to dry completely. A simple test for dryness is to lightly touch the panel with the tips of your fingers. If there is a sensation of coolness, there is still moisture in the panel.

The flower was painted using a ‘wet on wet’ technique. Each petal was painted using the same shades in the background. Working one petal at a time, it was wetted and colour dropped in at the base. The painted petals were left to dry completely before painting the ones bordering it.
After the panel was dry, a sentiment from You Inspire Me Stamp Set was stamped in black ink. It was masked and the panel spattered with opaque white paint using a fan brush.
The panel was cut with the largest die from A2 Timeless Frames. The result is a scalloped frame with a separate rectangular panel. This die was also used to cut white sheet foam. The rectangular panel was mounted on the foam one.

The frame was adhered to an A2 sized card base that had been covered with teal cardstock. The foam mounted panel was then adhered to the centre of the frame.
Nuvo White Crystal Drops were used to add detail to the base of some of the petals and to embellish the background.
