Hello everyone! I know I am a little behind but now that I have the time to do some crafting, how could I resist Spellbinders' Small Die of the Month from February?! Because the panel die is, more or less, sized to fit half of an A2 panel, I thought it would fun to use it as a background and it came together seamlessly ... literally!
The Background
I cut Bristol Smooth card stock panels 5 1/2" by 4 1/2". The panel would eventually be trimmed down to an A2 size but I wanted a bit of wiggle room when the two die cut panels were put together to create the background. The panels were ink blended with Distress Oxide inks; Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers for one and Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold for the other. Two panels were die cut out of matte gold card stock for each card. The inside vertical frame was trimmed off of both frames and the back of each dotted with Tombow glue. The glue was left to dry creating a tacky and re-positionable die cut. The cut end of the panels were aligned on the ink blended panel. This panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock.
The Tiles and Sentiments
The tiles were die cut from both matte gold card stock and black sheet foam. They were stacked and adhered to the card. For the green card, the sentiment was foiled using Spellbinders' Hot Foil System with matte gold foil on a small panel ink blended with Lucky Clover and Peacock Feathers. The foiling plates were from Spellbinders' Calligraphy Hearts. The sentiment for the orange card is a die cut of matte gold card stock stacked on black foam from Spellbinders' Daydreaming.
