Hello everyone! I love colouring but sometimes just don't have the time to commit to it. Layering stencils are not only a quick way to add colour, they take all of the guesswork out of 'where do those shadow areas go?'!!! Life Is Good is a gorgeous stamp set that has coordinating dies as well as layering stencils. Of course if you just NEED to colour, skip the stencilling!
The Life Is Good flower spray was stamped with black ink on white card stock in a stamping platform. The stamp was left in position so the image could be re-stamped after the colouring.
There are three stencils in the Life Is Good coordinating stencil set. The information included on the back of the package provides a good overview on the order they should be used. I applied the ink using blender brushes. For some of the smaller details, I used small blender brushes.
After the ink was completely dry, the panel was placed back in the stamping platform and stamped with Versamark ink. The image was coated with gold embossing powder and heat applied to melt it.
Both the flower spray and white sheet foam where die cut with the coordinating die and stacked.
The background for this card was created with Modern Stripes Stencil on white card stock.
A light green ink was applied to the stencil with a blender brush.
The stencil was flipped over and a darker green ink applied creating a basket weave in some areas. Clear glitter gel was then applied over the darker green ink.
After the panel was dry, it was trimmed down to 4" x 5 1/4".
The stencilled background panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base matted with black card stock.
The foam backed flower spray was positioned on the stencilled background so that the the basket weave would be at the bottom of the panel. Weight was applied over the flowers until the adhesive was set.
The sentiment, also from the Life Is Good stamp set, was stamped with black ink on white card stock and clear embossed. The coordinating die was used to cut the sentiment and three additional pieces of white card stock. All of the die cuts were stacked and then adhered to the flower spray.
