Double Stencilling Technique featuring Simon Says Stamp’s So Talkative … and a few other goodies!

Hello everyone! Today’s card is for that special friend you can’t say enough to …. SO say it all with Simon Says Stamp’s SO TALKATIVE! I am also featuring some other great Simon products …. ITTY BITTY TAG, FRIEND OUTLINE and, of course, TALK BUBBLES for the double stencilling technique. I hope you enjoy this fun and whimsical card!

Bristol Smooth card stock was die cut with the second largest die from Pinkfresh Studio’s Slim Stitched Rectangles die set. The speech bubbles were stencilled with Distress Oxide inks Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold. While the panel dried, another small piece of Bristol Smooth was inked with Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade for the die cut sentiment.

’Double Stencilling’ was used to add fun detail to each of the speech bubbles. The Talk Bubble stencil was lined up over a bubble. If there were overlapping bubbles, they were masked off simply with pieces of Post It Note tape. The pattern stencil was positioned over top and inked with either Ripe Persimmon, Abandoned Coral or Spiced Marmalade. Several pattern stencils by Simon Says Stamp were used to create a whimsical look. The panel was left to dry completely before embossing the sentiments from So Talkative. Again if one bubble overlapped another, it was masked with Post It Note tape. The sentiments were stamped one at a time with Versamark ink, the masking removed and embossed with white embossing powder.

The Itty Bitty Tag was used to cut both white card stock and foam … one set for each letter of FRIEND. They were stacked. Simon’s sentiment die, Friend Outline, was used to die cut both the small ink blended panel and white card stock. Both the ink blended outline and letter were adhered to the tag. The white letter was stacked on top. The tags were threaded with silver cording and adhered to the panel in a swag fashion. The card was finished off with clear sequins topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
