Hello everyone! Spellbinder's Big Jolly Santa is so adorable and easily assembled. All of these cuties are sporting felt suits in a variety of colours to add a touch of whimsy and fun. Each Santa has a unique background created with four different layering stencil sets by Spellbinders. Such an enjoyable project!
I started off by die cutting the elements to create the Santa four times. Card stock was used to create his face and cut the mitts and boots: a soft peach, pink, white and black.
The hat, jacket and pants were cut from felt: purple, red, fuschia and pink.
The trim for the traditional red suited Santa was cut from white felt but the trim for the other Santa's was out of specialty card stock.
The dies for the head, jacket and pants were also cut from foam. The die cuts were taped together and Santa was assembled on the foam.
For the banner sentiment, card stock was chosen to match the felt suits. The die was also used to cut black foam to stack the sentiment on.
The stencilling for all the backgrounds was completed with Distress Oxide inks. The dies were not used that accompany the stencils. Instead the panels were die cut with a die from Notched Corner Frames and mounted on A2 sized black card bases.
The purple suited Santa was mounted on a background created with Christmas Florals Die and Stencil Bundle. The stencilling was done with Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss and Peacock Feathers.
Layered Noel Foliage Stencils & Die Bundle was used to stencil the background for the red suited Santa using Peeled Paint, Rustic Wilderness, Festive Berries and Fired Brick.
For the pink suited Santa, Layered Joy Tree was used with Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Fossilized Amber and Forest Moss.
Layered Merry Christmas Foliage Stencil and Die was used for the fuschia suited Santa done up in Picked Raspberry, Villainous Potion, Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint.
Santa's eyes were given a touch of sparkle by finishing them off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
