Oh my goodness! I did not realize how long it has been since I last posted. I had a family emergency and, even though I have been back home for a while, getting into the craftroom was very low on my priority list. In fact, I was quite drained physically and emotionally and it has only been the last couple of days that my enthusiasm for card making returned. It helped significantly that the crisis resolved positively .... so grateful.
Hope & Strength .... Was this gorgeous, heartfelt digital stamp set made for me after three weeks of worry and feeling helpless?! The timing was certainly right! It did bring a smile to my face when I saw this new release. Funny how life unfolds ... just when you need that extra boost of support, there it is. And those dragonflies!!!! WOW!!! I decided to make two cards so I could feature each of the dragonflies on their own card!
The Background:
I began these cards by stencilling the backgrounds using My Favourite Things 'Mini Cloud Stencil' with Distress Oxide inks. I used Shabby Shutters, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers on one card and Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry on the other. The panels were die cut with a scalloped edged rectangle.
The Elements:
The dragonflies were Copic coloured; the colours are listed under Products. I used violets, blues, pinks and red tones for Pink/Purple card and blue greens and yellow greens for the Blue/Green card. The colouring was very straightforward and quick!
The sentiment was mounted on glitter paper and adhered to the panel. The dragonflies were fussy cut. I split the wings and used foam adhesive squares to mount them on the background. Two foam squares were stacked for the upper wings to give them more dimension than the lower wings.
The Finishing Touches:
The dragonflies were 'painted' with Nuvo Glitter Drops. After they dried, the panels were adhered to A2 sized card bases and Glitter Drops were used as the final embellishments for these encouragement cards.
