Hello everyone! I love creating cards for children (or maybe this is appropriate for anyone young at heart!). Not only it is a pleasure to present the card to them, it is an opportunity to go all out with colour. This card is done up in primary colours and features a fun, tone on tone hot foiled background and the new Sentiment Labels by Spellbinders.
Over-sized teal card stock was hot foiled with three birthday sentiments from Spellbinders' Anytime Glimmer Sentiments using their Hot Foil System. Please watch the tutorial which outlines how to create a background with multiple plates. The panel was trimmed to 3 3/4” by 5” and mounted on foam. it was then adhered to a black mat measuring 4 1/8” by 5 3/8” and mounted on an A2 sized card base. A sentiment from Mini Everyday Sentiments was foiled with black foil on teal card stock. Using Sentiment Labels, this sentiment was cut with a die to cut a strip and the coordinating label was used to cut black card stock and foam. The label was stacked and finished off with black mini brads.
The elements for this card are from Shopping Cart Part On! …. a super fun die set. The balloons and the flags for the banner were cut from red, yellow and blue card stock. The black card stock banner and balloons were stacked on black foam. Black metallic thread was tied around the end of each balloon. After the elements were adhered, rainbow confetti was used to round off the design of this fun card.
Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard was used to coat the flags on the banner. The balloons were dressed with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and the confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
