Hello everyone! I love Spellbinders’ Kaleidoscope Floral Slimline … a gorgeous die set! The set includes a slimline die to create an inlaid background and several individual flower dies to add pops of dimension.
The slimline die was used to cut both alabaster and black card stock. The main section of the alabaster background was adhered to a black foam panel of the same size. I used Picket Fence Studios’ foam with its double sided adhesive making the inlaid work super easy! The alabaster floral and leaf die cuts were retained in the alabaster floral outline
The black floral outline from the other slimline die cut was inlaid within the alabaster background. The smaller alabaster background die cuts were inlaid. The alabaster floral and leaf inlaid die cuts kept in the outline so they could be easily ink blended with blending brushes using Simon Says Stamp’s Pawsitively Saturated Inks:
Floral - Peony, Cherry
Leaves - Pearfection
The ink blended die cuts were transferred over to the adhesive foam backed panel.
The individual dies were used to cut alabaster card stock and they were ink blended as follows:
Small Flowers, Guava, Peony
Flower Centres - Lemonade
Layered Flowears - Peony, Cherry (one layer die cut from black card stock)
Leaves - Pearfection
The dimensional flowers were adhered to the black shadows in the outline that corresponded with each one.
The card was embellished with red confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. Tiny red or pink crystals were added to the dot detail of the flourishes. The flower centres were finished with prills.
