Life Is A Party … creating stencils with dies

Hello everyone! It is ‘birthday season’ for me! Many of my family and friend’s celebrations occur during Spring and Summer … including my own. I am preparing for the season with three cute, mini slim line cards featuring Simon Says Stamp’s LIFE IS A PARTY STAMP SET and BALLOON TRIO DIE SET . The balloon die set will be used to create stencils rather than using the die cuts … a good variation for one layered cards that are mail friendly!

I used Simon’s Mini Slimline Rectangles to die cut Bristol Smooth card stock. The largest die was used for one panel and the other two were cut with the second largest die. The three balloon dies were used to cut card stock to create the stencils. the ballon die cuts were retained so the highlight could be stencilled on to the balloons. I am using Simon’s PAWSITIVELY Saturated inks. I love how smoothly these inks are applied with blender brushes to the card stock. The backgrounds, one full panel and the other two partial, were inked first:

The balloons were then stencilled using the darkest inks from each set of inks; Pearfection, Mandarin and Citrine. The die cut balloons from the card stock stencils were then used to stencil on highlights on some of the balloons with a blender brush using Hero Arts’ Unicorn White ink.

The strings from LIFE IS A PARTY STAMP SET were stamped with Simon’s Intense Black in. The main and secondary sentiments were stamped with either Intense Black ink or Mandarin/Citrine. When the panels were completely dry, the confetti, using an acrylic block, was repeatedly stamped with ink on the upper two thirds of two of the cards. The confetti was embossed with puff sparkle embossing powder. The cards were fin up with clear confetti topted off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
