Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by for another Make It Again Monday. Spellbinders' Glimmering Autumn Woods was a hot foil set released last year but it is still available. I absolutely love the beautiful images, especially the mushroom, and wanted to make more cards with this set. And even though I have the best of intentions, I never seem to have the time to come back to some of these gorgeous products like this one. By scheduling this biweekly series, I have magically found the time to MAKE IT AGAIN!
Two panels of Bristol smooth card stock were sprayed with Distress inks. I started off with panels that were approximately 6" x 8". For three cards, I didn't quite have enough images and ended up scrambling through my recycling bin and pulling out all the bits and pieces of the spray ink card stock to foil additional foliage! so in this case, more is not less!
The images were foiled with Copper Hot Foil using Spellbinders' Glimmer Hot Foil System. The mushrooms were foiled three times on the Bristol smooth card stock that had been sprayed with Ground Espresso, Fossilized Amber and Hickory Smoke.
The rest of the foil plates, including the sentiment, were foiled multiple times on the second panel that was sprayed with a number of the Distress thanks; Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Wilted Violet, Candied Apple, Crushed Olive, Mustard Seed, and Speckled Egg! I couldn't quite get it right and so just kept layering on different colours until I got to where I wanted to go!
The images were die cut with the coordinating dies. I borrowed a strip die from one of Spellbinders' other sets to die cut the sentiment and foam so it could be stacked.
This set also comes with 'standalone' dies. I used scrap pieces of the Distress ink sprayed card stock to cut these additional foliage pieces.
The elements that needed to be layered were adhered.
After my project was completed, I ended up using mid and light tone brown Copic markers to do some shading on both the mushroom and acorns. Now would be a good time to do that!
The three card front panels, measuring 4" x 5 1/4", were embossed with Scattered Fall Embossing Folder.
The panels were mounted on top folding, A2 sized cardbases matted with brown card stock
Using a die from a nesting die set, circles from each of the three colours of card stock and foam were cut. The circles were adhered to the foam and then on to the card front.
The largest element, the mushroom, was adhered to the left hand side of the circle. The rest of the elements and the stacked sentiment were arranged around it. Some of the other elements were attached with foam squares.
Gold confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew were placed around the arrangement. Gold pearls were adhered directly to some of the elements.
