Hello, fellow card makers! Finally some time to work with Simon Says Stamp's Kit of the Month for June! A little late ... but better late than never! And how could I resist! Etched Greetings is a gorgeous sentiment based stamp set and that patterned paper, Crafter's Companion Delightful Daisies, is dreamy! I have seven card examples using patterned paper with embossed vellum.
The card fronts have been created with Crafter's Companion Delightful Daisies 6" by 6" paper pack.
The panels were cut with Stitched Rectangles ... my favourite nesting die set!
All but one card have windows cut from the card front with either A2 Thin Frames or
The sentiment or combination sentiment/ floral was embossed on Vellum with either white or gold embossing powder to coordinate with the thin frame.
For those cards with an image continuing from the vellum to the patterned paper, I began with patterned paper and vellum panels cut to the same size. The image/sentiment was then stamped on both panels thus keeping the stamping continuous when they are stacked.
The vellum was adhered to the back of the window opening on the card front. The coloured vellum I used was lighter weight than what I typically use and had to be adhered with Tear Riffic Double Sided Tape to avoid the liquid adhesive causing the paper to ripple.
Tombow Adhesive was applied to the thin frames and they were set aside to dry completely. When this adhesive dries, it is tacky and repositionable ... no worries about the glue oozing out onto the vellum!
All of the panels with vellum windows were popped up with either foam tape or sheet foam to allow the light to diffuse through.
The panels were adhered to A2 sized, top folding card bases.
For the one card without a window, the Fancy Thanks Die was used to cut both ivory and patterned paper. This die cuts the word in two pieces. Scotch tape was used to hold the two inlaid die cuts together.
Lining up the die cut sentiment, the band of vellum was embossed with a secondary sentiment in white.
The band was wrapped around the patterned paper panel. I prefer the vellum to lie flat. The band was first place on Tear Rific Sheet Adhesive and then adhered. Because the adhesive is very thin and consistent across the panel, the glue does not show through the vellum.
The card front was adhered to an A2 sized card matted in ivory card stock.
The Thanks sentiment was adhered to the vellum ... difficult to see in the photo but visible in real life!
The cards were embellished with either opaque white crystals, Snow Crystals , or Gold Foil Pearls.
