Hello friends! Spellbinders' 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Joyful Candy Canes, is a gorgeous, repeat garland design! With the exception of one step, these cards using the Reverse Embossing Technique are QUICK & EASY and perfect for mass producing your Christmas cards!

The registration window for this club will be available October 6 for current Club Members. New registrations are accepted on the 10th of October. Registrations can be completed until October 27th or while supplies last.

  • Panels of water colour paper, 4 1/4” by 5 1/2”, were given a colour wash with pigment ink powders I used a combination of two brands; Lindy’s Magical Powders and Nuvo Shimmer Powders. When working with these powders, I like to use a spritz water sprayer for applying water.

  • The panels were wetted front and back. Spraying both sides will keep the panels flat making it easier to apply the pigment powders. For the pink card, Lizzy’s Cuppa Tea Teal, Pass The Jam, Jane, Cheerio Cherry and Pinkies Up Pink were applied.

  • Lizzy’s Cuppa Tea Teal, Butter The Bread Blue, Blue Blitz And Green Parade were used for the other panel.

  • The panels were left to dry overnight. This is the only step that takes time. The rest of the process is very quick!

  • The panels were embossed with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month using the Reverse Embossing Technique. The back of the panels were positioned on the flat side of the embossing folder …. opposite to what you would normally do.

  • Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot was dragged across the panels colouring in the background.

  • The panels were spattered with Splatter White Opaque Watercolor using a fan brush and adhered to A2 sized, black card bases.

  • The sentiments for the cards are from Christmas Greetings Die Set. The words were die cut from water colour paper coloured with the powders used on the backgrounds and black sheet foam. The shadow dies were used to vellum paper and floating sentiments were created. The process is covered in the video.
