Bump up the Birthday FUN FACTOR with Spellbinders’ Serve A Slice

Hello everyone! I am just back from a short vacation in Las Vegas celebrating my daughter’s birthday … so birthday celebrations are definitely been on my mind! I am a pie person and would choose pie over cake any day of the week … so how does a rainbow stacked birthday pie slices sound to you?! This fun and easy slimline card features a couple of new Spellbinder’ die sets … Serve A Slice and Delicious Decorations ! So adorable!

With six slices of pie, there was a bit of die cutting … all done with Bristol Smooth card stock. Once that job was done, the card came together very quickly! All of the die cuts were inked using blending brushes and Distress Oxide inks.

  • pie crust - Antique Linen, Vintage Photo

  • filling and drips - Candied Apple/Aged Mahogany, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed/Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn/Twisted Citron, Blueprint Sketch/Faded Jeans, Villainous Potion/Wilted Violet

The paint drip die from the Artful Brush die set was reimagined as pie filling drips and die cut from Card stock inked with same colours used for the pies! These die cuts were trimmed down.

The pie slices were assembled. The rolled portion of the pie crust was coated with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and coarse clear glitter. The Nuvo glaze was also applied to both the whipped cream and pies with the glaze.

The 3 3/4” by 8 3/4’ card base was matted with black card stock and a white card front. The paint drips were lined up on the side with the card front. Three pie slices were adhered directly to the card alternating with the other three mounted with foam strips. Happy Birthday from Mini Everyday Sentiments was foiled in silver on white card stock. The sentiment and foam were die cut with the sentiment strip die and stacked.
