Hello fellow card makers! Giraffe-ic Friends is an adorable stamp set! These cuties have so much character and the sentiments are sweet and clever! I have used Giraffe-ic Friends and the coordinating dies to create an easy 5" by 7" shadow box card ... so much fun!
Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb card stock was used to create the shadow box. For this 5" by 7" card, two panels were cut to 6" by 7". On the 7" side, the panels were scored at 1/2" on both sides.
Teal card stock was cut to 5" by 7" and cut with an oval die from a nesting die set. This panel was lined up with one of the shadow box panels to position the next largest die in the nesting oval die set. The panel was die cut.
Bristol Smooth Card Stock was ink blended with Pawsitvely Saturated Inks Pucker, Cheeky and Blush. The panel was trimmed to 7" high and just slightly less than 5" wide so it would lie flat and not interfere with the folds at the back of the shadow box.
This panel was stencilled with Speckled Background Stencil using the darkest ink in the ink blend; Pucker.
The panel was adhered to the solid shadow box panel.
The score lines on both panels were folded and burnished. The flaps on the panels were over lapped and adhered together. When the adhesive was dry, the shadow box was flattened several times to create memory. This will ensure the card will lay flat when it is ready to be popped into an envelope!
The Giraffe-ic Friends stamp set comes with several images to create a scene. I stamped several leafy groupings, two clouds (could be used as bushes), flowers and the giraffes with Copic-friendly, Black Memento ink.
The images were coloured as follows:
Giraffes - Y17, 08, C5, 4, R01
Leaves - BG18, 13, 11
Flowers - BG13, R01, 02
Clouids BG 15, 01
The images were cut with the coordinating dies.
Sentiments were stamped on the teal card front with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
The two giraffes and one cloud were adhered to the back of the shadow box.
The leaves and the second cloud were adhered around the oval die cut on the shadow box.
The teal panel with its smaller oval die cut was adhered to the front of the shadow box with foam tape around the perimeter.
One of the flowers was used to frame the sentiment on the bottom of the panel and the leaves were detailed with white Nuvo Crystal Drops.
