Hello! I hope this post finds each of you well and happy. I am excited to be a part of Simon Says Stamp's UNITED WE CRAFT BLOG PARTY ... please visit Simon Says Stamp Blog for crafting inspiration from over 100 designers!!!
For me personally, the time spent in my craft room over the past few weeks has helped me face the struggles associated with this incomprehensible, world-wide medical crisis with a sense of hope. I am using the 'stay at home' mandate as an opportunity to revisit favourite products like Simon Says Stamp's DAISY BOUQUET featured in today's card ... in fact, this card has a 'line-up' SSS products!!!
The background ...
On wet Canson watercolour paper, Ranger Distress Stains (with their dauber ends) were applied across the paper alternating three colours; Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap. The hard edges were softened with a wet paint brush. When completely dry, the panel was embossed in white using Simon Says Stamp's Quilted Hearts Background and die cut with the scalloped frame die in Simon Says Stamp's Frames. The inset panel was then mounted on white sheet foam and attached to an A2 sized card base. The scalloped frame was adhered around this raised panel.
The main event ...
The floral image from Simon Says Stamps's Daisy Bouquet was embossed on Canson watercolour paper and painted with Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap distress stains. The daisies were fussy cut and adhered to the background panel. The flower edges were free from glue so the petals could be lifted to provide some dimension to the floral grouping.
The sentiment ...
A small panel was prepared in the same manner as the background but using just two of the distress stains; Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap. The sentiment from Daisy Bouquet, Celebrating You Today, was heat embossed on this panel and die cut with Simon Says Stamp's Sentiment Labels. After trimming the ends, it was mounted on white card stock leaving an 1/8" border. This panel was mounted on the card with foam squares.
The Envelope ...
The main body of the envelope and two side flaps were die cut from Simon Says Stamp's Cotton Candy card stock using their A2 V Flap Envelope die set. A grouping of daisies from Daisy Bouquet and address lines were embossed on the main body of the envelope. The envelope was assembled using Sookwang Scor Tape.
