Hello everyone! I am excited to be participating in Simon Says Stamp's DieCember event! Working with dies is a favourite card making go to for me. I am featuring a gorgeous die, Foliage Circle, in two pairs of cards that are fast, easy and ... 'two for one'!
On Bristol Smooth card stock, acrylic paint was applied with a brayer. On one panel. Folk Art Heartland Blue, Violet and Fuschia were used and, on the other, Distress Oxide inks Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. Small pieces of card stock were also painted for the die cut sentiments. The panels were set aside to dry completely.
The sunrise coloured panel was paired with black card stock and the other one with fine glitter gold card stock. All the panels were A2 sized.
The four panels were die cut with Foliage Circle. The negative portion of the die cuts were interchanged with the partner card.
Foliage Circle was inlaid in each of the panels. Scotch tape was used to hold the die cuts securely. The panels were cut with the largest die from Simon's Nested Domed Arches.
The black card stock card bases were also cut with the same die as the panels. For the side folding cards, the die was positioned so the cutting edge of the die on the side was slightly overhanging the fold of the card base. For the top folding card, the die overhung the fold positioned on the upper portion.
The arched panels were adhered to the card bases.
Simon's Create Wafer Die and Inspire Wafer Die were cut for each card to match the negative space of the FOLIAGE CIRCLE from either the acrylic painted panels, black card stock or gold glitter paper.
The cards were embellished with sequins from either Simon's Coral Bust Sequins or Sudio Katia's Satin Rainbow Confetti. They were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
