Hello friends! Welcome to Simon Says Stamp’s new release, Festive Fun. I have two very different cards featuring the gorgeous Poinsettia Swag. One is done up with a combination of Copic markers and Pawsitively Satured Inks. The background uses a fading stencil technique. The other card is bold with saturated, warm tones in alcohol inks. The swag is highlighted by lifting the ink. Either way, Poinsettia Swag is a gorgeous stamp set accompanied with several beautiful sentiments.
A panel of white card stock was stamped with the floral spray from Poinsettia Swag using Versamark ink. The image was embossed in silver.
The panel was inked using a blending tool with Pawsitively Saturated Inks Morning.
The Autumn Splendor Stencil was positioned in the bottom, right corner. This time using a blending brush, Pawsitively Saturated Inks Galaxy and Twilight were applied. The darker ink, Galaxy, was applied starting in the corner followed byTwilight. To fade the stencilling, the ink used on the background, Morning, was applied in the upper left area of the panel.
The spray was Copic coloured. BV17, 13 and 11 were used for poinsettia and C8, 5 and 3 for the stems and leaves.
The sentiment was stamped in black ink and then masked with a piece of Post-It Note Tape.
The panel was spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter using a fan brush and then trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4”. It was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base.
Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard was used to accent the berries.
Canon Photo Paper 5 X 7 works well with Alcohol Inks and can be heat embossed without causing the paper to blister and warp.
I used four colours of inks on the panel. After it was dry, Poinsettia Swag was stamped in the corner with Versamark Ink and embossed in gold.
Alcohol Lift-Ink was applied to the embossed image. I let it sit for a few minutes and removed it by laying paper toweling over it to absorb the liquid and ink.
The panel was cut with the Dot Scallop Border die.
Black cardstock was trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4” and the sentiment was embossed in gold on it. The panel was then adhered to a gold foil panel and then mounted to an A2 sized card base.
The card was embellished with Moonstone Confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
