Simon Says Stamp’s To Love & To Be Loved Releases

Writer's picture: Bonnie CraneBonnie Crane

Hello friends! I have a couple of cards to share with you from Simon Says Stamp’s To Love & To Be Loved Releases. I am late to the races! We had a postal strike, and I didn’t receive my products until just recently, but who could resist working with them! One card features the gorgeous Exotic Blooms die set and the other, a layering stencil set called Tumbing Flowers. The sentiments for both cards were created with a “stamp all at once & cut all at once “ set, EZ Strips Birthday and the coordinating die, EZ Sentiments Rectangles. I’m pretty sure you’ve already checked out both of these releases, but hopefully these cards will provide some more inspiration.

  • Both cards have been created on A2 sized, black card bases.

  • This sentiments were created with EZ Strips Birthday and the coordinating die, EZ Sentiments Rectangles. All of the sentiments are on one large stamp and the coordinating die cuts them all out at once. Today’s sentiments were stamped with black ink on Green Apple Cardstock.

  • The Exotic Blooms die set is made up of a large and smaller flower. I cut both flowers five times from white cardstock to create the square wreath.

  • The leaves were coloured with Celery and Pearfection Pawsitively Saturated Inks and the stamens with Lemonade. A combination of Lemonade and Guava were used to colour the flower petals. Texture was added to the tips of the stamens with Elements Earth Texture. The flowers were assembled, but not yet adhered to the stems.

  • Two dies from Stitched Rectangles were taped together and used to cut black sheet foam and Green Apple Cardstock. The frames were stacked and adhered to the card base.

  • The leaves were arranged, and then adhered to the frame. The flowers were positioned around the leafy frame.

  • The sentiments were adhered inside the frame, and the card was embellished with Iridescent Light Pink Confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

  • Tumbling Flowers is a five piece layering stencil set. Like the previous card, the leaves were coloured with Celery  and Pearfection Pawsitively Saturated Inks .  A combination of Lemonade  and Guava, Punch and Lilac were used to colour the flowers. The flower centres were done with black ink.

  • The panel was trimmed to 4“ x 5 1/4“ and adhered to the card base.

  • The wings from the Etched Dragonfly were cut from white card stock and the body from black. The wings were inked with the two greens used for the leaves. The body was adhered directly to the card front and the wings popped up with small foam squares. Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard were applied to the wings.

  • The sentiments were adhered with foam squares.
