I adore Scandinavian folk art and used Simon Says Stamp's Happy Hello to create backdrops for the bold sentiments found in the newly released, From All Of Us. This sentiment stamp set is geared toward encouragement and well wishes from a group of people ... perfect for a card from your family or work family!
THE HOW-TO: Repeat Stamping
A stamping platform and Pawsitively Saturated Inks were used for both cards. Although not necessary, a stamping platform does make repeat stamping much more precise and a quick project. The grid on the base of the stamping platform was used to set a measurement for moving the panel for each stamping. The image to be repeated is positioned on the platform door. The panel is placed so the first stamped image will be the starting point. The stamp stays in place and the panel is moved for the succession of stampings; count the number of grid squares the panel is moved to position the second stamping and repeat the count for the rest! The panel will always move the same distance. The panel at some point will extend beyond the platform door. There will be no creasing as long as pressure is applied just to the area where the stamp is. The images will be evenly spaced and aligned.
For the first card, Simon's Fog Grey Card Stock measuring 4 1/4" by 5 1/2"was stencilled with Geo Leaves Stencil using Flannel ink.
Happy Hello has a number of images including florals and stemmed leaves that can be configured in a number of ways.
I began with a stem on one side of the panel and repeat stamped it in Sage. The other side of the panel was stamped with the same image.
For the centre floral, both the flower and the stem were positioned temporarily to determine the spacing required for the flower. The stems were repeat stamped in Sage followed by the flowers in Watermelon.
The panel was trimmed to 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" and adhered to an A2 sized, top folding card base.
The sentiment From All Of Us was stamped with black Versafine ink on Fog Grey Card Stock and trimmed. It was mounted to the card with foam squares.
The card was embellished with Studio Katia Satin Silver Pearls. On the stem borders, two sizes of the pearls were alternated.
The heart image in Happy Hello was stamped on A2 sized Sea Glass Card Stock with Marine applied to the centre and Royal on the outer edges.
The three flowers were repeat stamped beginning with the stems. For this configuration, I began with the centre flower and then followed the same procedure for the second stamping outlined in 'The How-To' on either side of it. Sage was used for the stems and Watermelon for the flowers.
Two additional flowers were stamped on either side of the bottom of the heart with the stem in Marine and the flowers in Watermelon.
The sentiment From All Of Us was stamped with Royal ink on Sea Glass Card Stock and fussy cut. It was mounted to the card with foam squares.
The panel was trimmed to 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" and adhered to an A2 sized, top folding card base.
The card was embellished with Studio Katia Sparkling Sea Confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
