Hello everyone! Have you checked out Simon’s new release? So many amazing new products … I am making a list! It is getting rather long … lol! I have a set of cards featuring the new MAGIC STARS ... 3 slimlines, 3 mini slimlines. I have to say, I really love the minis. So much CUTENESS! What is your preference?
WHAT’S THE SAME?
Here is a list of everything that was done the same for each card.
Ink Blending - All the panels were ink blended with Distress oxide inks on Bristol Smooth card stock.
Embossing - The stamp is not long enough to cover the two sizes of panels. After the first stamping in a stamping platform with Versamark ink, the stars were embossed. The panel was returned to the stamping platform and the embossed area covered with cardstock to protect it from being double stamped. The remainder of the panel was stamped and embossed.
Card Assembly - All of the ink blended panels were mounted on black sheet foam before being adhered to black card stock. The card bases were constructed from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock.
Embellishments - All of the cards were finished off with either gold or silver confetti topped up with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
THE SLIMLINES
The ink blended panels for these cards were die cut with the second largest die from Pinkfresh Studio’s Slim Stitched Rectangles. The largest die was used to cut the black card stock layer. The card bases measured 3 3/4” by 7 3/4”.
Card 1
The panel was ink blended with Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Black Soot. Post It Note tape was used to mask off the top and bottom of the card Before stamping. Using a T-ruler, a Versamarker pen was used to draw the line border and it was embossed the same as the stars with Ink On 3’s Gold Rush. The secondary sentiment from Simon’s SAY IT ALL FRIEND was stamped with Black Onyx Versafine ink and clear embossed. The YOU from Simon’s YOU SHINE die set was used to die cut both matte gold card stock and black foam. They were stacked.
Card 2
Both panels for this card were ink blended with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot and embossed with WOW! Metallic Silver embossing powder. Stars were cut out to create an overlay panel and black foam for the backing using a Scan ‘n Cut. When the over lay panel was inked, it was stacked on the foam and adhered to the embossed panel. The sentiment from Simon’s INSIDE FRIENDSHIP MESSAGES was stamped on white card stock with Black Versafine ink, clear embossed and cut with Simon’s SENTIMENT LABELS die set. The ends were trimmed and it was mounted on black card stock before being adhered to the card.
Card 3
The background was ink blended with Picked Raspberry, Faded Jeans and Black Soot and embossed with Simon’s FINE DETAIL WHITE embossing powder. A piece of white card stock was embossed with Ranger’s Holographic card stock twice. Super beautiful!!! The YOU from Simon’s YOU SHINE die set was cut from both the embossed card stock and white foam and stacked. The shadow die was also cut from the embossed card stock. The stars leftover from the previous card ( I cut a couple of extras😉) were also embossed twice with this embossing powder. They were mounted on foam.
THE MINI SLIMLINES
The ink blended panel for these cards were cut with the second largest die from Simon’s MINI SLIMLINE RECTANGLES. The largest die was used for the black card stock layer. The card bases measured 3 3/8” by 6 1/2”.
Card 1
The background was ink blended with Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Peacock feathers and embossed with Ink On 3’s Gold Rush embossing powder. A star cut out with the Scan ‘n Cut was embossed with WOW’s Ultra High Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder And mounted on black foam. A piece of card stock was ink blended with Dusty Concord and Faded Jeans to die cut the You from the YOU SHINE die set. The secondary sentiment from Simon’s HOME SWEET HOME was stamped with black Versafine and clear embossed On the ink blended card stock, cut with Simon’s SENTIMENT LABELS, mounted on black card stock and stacked on foam.
Card 2
This panel was masked with 3 varying sizes of circles before ink blending with Abandoned Coral, Faded Jeans and Black Soot. The negative space from the die cuts were used as a stencil to apply more Chipped Sapphire around the circle edges to define the image. The die cut cut ‘friend’ was borrowed from Simon’s HELLO CRAFTY FRIEND which was die cut from silver embossed card stock. The secondary sentiment from Simon’s INSIDE FRIENDSHIP MESSAGES was stamped with black Versafine and clear embossed ON the ink blended card stock, cut with Simon’s SENTIMENT LABELS and mounted on black card stock.
Card 3
The background was ink blended with Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire and embossed with Simon's Fine White Detail embossing powder. I had some extra holographic embossed card stock and die cut the YOU from the YOU SHINE as well as foam to stack it. The letters SHINE were left over from another card and were stacked on foam. A jewel picker made this task easy!
