Thank you so much for stopping by! This my first post! It has been quite a process getting to this point and FEEDBACK on what you liked and/or SUGGESTIONS for improvement would be appreciated!
This card features Simon Says Stamp ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow‘ with a bold ink blended background and a copic coloured floral design. A Video Tutorial is included at the end of the post
The images are stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Memento Ink, a copic marker friendly ink. I placed masks on the images before inking the background.
I used Distress Oxide inks ⬆️ and repeated the inking/blending several times. A bold blend requires lots of layered inking and good pressure! And time!
I let the background dry to avoid fingermarks before Copic colouring. For the the flower, I used the RV tones and yellow in the flower centre. The leaves were coloured with the B markers.⬆️ I tackled the colouring one petal/leaf at a time going darkest to lightest but many choose the other way around. Personal preference!
I moved on to embossing the images choosing a shiny gold finish. To wrap up this card, I used a thin frame die to cut out the centre of the card. The outer frame and gold thin frame were mounted directly on the card base with the central panel raised using black sheet foam. I inked a smaller panel with Antique Linen and Seedless Preserves before embossing ‘happy birthday’. This panel was also raised with black foam. Before attaching, I stamped ‘you are loved’ directly on the center panel with Versafine ink. The card was finished off with a few sequins with a dollop of Nuvo Drops in the centre of each one.
