Hello everyone! Spellbinder's Beautiful Wreaths Collection is a combination of gorgeous and so adorable! With Halloween right around the corner, I am working with the foliage from Build-A-Wreath Die Set and the sweet Halloween Wreath Add-Ons Die Set to create two spooky card examples!
For both cards, the foliage from Build-A-Wreath Die Set was cut from black card stock. The branches are curved to easily form a wreath.
The sentiments included in the Halloween Add-On consist of shadow and script dies. I did not use the shadow dies. The sentiments were die cut with black glitter card stock and then dotted with Tombow glue. This is a good choice of adhesive for fine die cuts. I allow it to dry completely. The glue will be tacky and repositionable. No worries about getting adhesive on the glitter paper and this adhesive also makes it extremely easy to curve the sentiment as was done on the one card.
The background was created with Distress Oxide Inks on Bristol Smooth card stock. Fossilized Amber was applied to the entire panel on one card and Salvaged Patina to the other.
Masking paper was cut with a circle die and placed where the wreath would be positioned. Black Soot (& Evergreen Bough on the teal card) was blended on to the background and the mask removed.
The elements from the Halloween Wreath Add-Ons Die Set were die cut from black and purple glitter card stock, white, yellow and orange card stock. Burnt orange card stock was used to cut the pumpkin tote and the edges were lightly inked with Black Soot.
All of the candy and the facial features of the pumpkin were coated with Crystal Glaze.
Some candy and small branches were tucked into the pumpkin tote and held in place with scotch tape on the back.
All of the elements were adhered with foam squares.
Iridescent yellow and orange half pearls complete the wreath.
The bats and the facial features for the ghosts were cut cut from black glitter card stock and the ghosts from white.
The three ghosts were adhered together by their hands and then mounted to the card with foam squares.
The bats were adhered directly to the card stock.
A small detail blender brush was used with white pigment ink to create the ghosts above the wreath. Pressure was applied with the brush to create the head. The brush was swept off lessening the pressure for the tail. The ghosts' features were created with Black Nuvo Drops.
The wreath was embellished with iridescent mottled purple half pearls.
