Spellbinder’s Envelope of Wonder Collection featuring Halloween Wonder

Hello fellow crafters! I have a card featuring Halloween Wonder from Spellbinder's fabulous Envelope of Wonder Collection. This collection is so much fun to work with! Today's card is interactive. When the envelope is opened up, a ghostly scene is revealed!

  • The envelope from Envelope of Wonder consists of four dies and is easily constructed. The large background die cut can be left open or folded close, as in this card, for a fun surprise! I used this large die to cut black glitter card stock. The pocket is made up of one of the larger triangular shaped dies and two of the smaller one. I cut these from plain black card stock. These die cuts have score lines that are folded. Adhesive is applied to the flaps and on the underside edge of the triangle on the larger die cut. I found it easiest to adhere the two side pieces followed by the bottom one. There is also a detail die cut for the edge of the flap that was not used for this card.

  • For the card front , yellow card stock was cut using a die from Notched Corner Frames. This panel was adhered to an A2 sized black card base. The envelope was closed (there is a slit on the pocket to slip the top of the flap into) and adhered to the card front using double sided tape.

  • The super fun elements from Halloween Wonder were cut from the typical Halloween palette of colours ... yellow, orange, black, lime green and white card stock!

  • The envelope was opened up and the decorating began with the two white ghosts and a black kitty with a pumpkin hat! The kitty was attached with a wobbler for an added element of fun! The inside was finished with some floating eyes! Spooky!

  • The glittery flap of the envelope was next! A spider web was added to the corner of the flap. I let the adhesive dry then closed the envelope by slipping the corner into the slit. The flap was finished off with bats adhered with foam squares holding a popped up banner. A third bat was added slipped partially behind the envelope.

  • Fun sentiments were letterpressed using the BetterPress System. Halloween Icons includes a press plate of sentiments that are pressed and cut with one die for a multitude of sentiments all at once! I used the BetterPress black ink on yellow card stock. The coordinating die was also used to cut black foam. The two sentiment strips for this card were stacked and adhered to the lower envelope.

  • A grouping of Halloween candy and a tombstone cut from white card stock and inked with grey was adhered with foam squares.

  • The edition of a little owl, another set of floating eyes and some gold and black confetti complete the card ... well almost! Little purple crystals were added to the bats' and owl's eyes to make them stand out!
