Spellbinder’s From the Garden Collection featuring Garden Party Stamp, Die & Stencil Set

Hello friends! I have always had a 'thing' for yellow roses and couldn't resist doing up Spellbinder's Garden Party bouquet in my fave! I used the five piece stencil set to colour the image which is exclusive to Garden Party Stamp, Die & Stencil Bundle. The stencilling makes this a quick and easy card!

  • I actually didn't plan for a reverse hot foiled background! I foiled the Plaid Tidings Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Yes, you read that correctly. I foiled the plate! I have a pretty collection of foiled plates! The plaid design on the hot foil sheet was so good I decided to dig out the Solid Rectangle Foiling Plate!

  • The Rectangle Foiling Plate was placed on the Hot Foil System. The shiny side of the foil with the negative design was placed faced down on the rectanglular plate and the cream card stock was placed on top of the foil. Because of the large surface area being foiled, in addition to the spacer pad and shim, I used a sheet of copy paper folded in half to increase the pressure when feeding it through the die cutter.

  • The foiled panel was trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4" and adhered to a black matted, A2 sized card base

  • The bouquet from Garden Party was stamped with black Versafine ink on white card stock.

  • The colouring was completed with the five piece stencil set included in the Garden Party Stamp, Die & Stencil Bundle. Pawsitively Saturated inks were applied with daubers. For the first stencil, Lemonade, Rose and Carnation were applied. Sunbeam and Rose were used for the second stencil. For stencil three, Citrine was used and Limelicious and Pearfection for stencil four. Rose was used for the last stencil.

  • The image was spattered with black water colour paint using a fan brush.

  • Both the bouquet and white sheet foam were cut with the accompanying die. The bouquet was mounted on the foam and adhered to the card front.

  • I love the negative, block style sentiments. The stamps are in strips and can be used as is or cut apart. I chose both these options!

  • The sentiments were stamped with black Versafine ink on cream card stock. I am careful not to over ink the stamps as the wording may become unclear. Rather, the stamp was lightly inked and stamped three or four times using a stamping platform.

  • The sentiments and white sheet foam were cut with the accompanying sentiment strip die. The sentiment strip left intact was mounted on foam and adhered under the bouquet. The other one was cut apart and adhered on the bouquet.

  • The card was embellished with ivory pearls.
