Spellbinder’s Glimmer of the Month for February

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

Hello fellow card makers! I love TWO FOR ONE cards! Now couple that with glimmer hot foil and Spellbinder's Tulip Border and you have a simple yet elegant pair of cards that are fast and easy to make!

Tulip Border is a five piece set. The hot foil plate is about one half of an A2 landscape oriented card. It is accompanied by a die that cuts the border of the tulips. Included in the set are two sentiments and a sentiment die. You could choose to foil the border directly on the card front creating a one layer card or use the die and pop the panel up as I have done.

  • The tulip border was foiled in Aura Glimmer Hot Foil on pink card stock. The foil from the card above was reused to create a second tulip border (the card below) by using a Solid Rectangle Foiling Plate on the Hot Foil System. The shiny side of the foil faces down on the rectangle plate and the card stock (I used pink again) was placed on top. Because this second panel will have a large area of foiling, in addition to the foil plate and shim, I used a sheet of copy paper folded in half. I got a beautiful result!

  • The coordinating die was used to cut the top of the Tulip Borders.

  • Ivory card stock was embossed with Fan Motif Embossing Folder.

  • The Tulip Border was adhered to the embossed panel and it was trimmed to 4" by 5.25" and mounted on a pink, A2 sized card base.

  • Using the same Aura Foil, the sentiments were foiled on pink card stock. The sentiments and sheet foam were cut with the sentiment die. The sentiments were adhered to the foam.
