Spellbinder’s Just Sayin’ by Kelly Bangs Collection

Writer's picture: Bonnie CraneBonnie Crane

The Just Sayin’ Collection from Spellbinders is full of bright colours and a fun, vintage vibe. This collection is fabulous for both card makers and scrapbookers. I have two cards featuring Speech Bubbles Die Set & Speech Bubbles Stamp Set. So cute and fun!

  • Black card stock, trimmed to 4“ x 5 1/4“, was adhered to an A2 sized card base.

  • Using the Speech Bubbles Stamp Set, the note paper was stamped two times aligning the top line of the stamp with the bottom line on the stamped image. The image was stamped with Distress Oxide ink Faded Jeans. The margin line was drawn in with the red gel pen.

  • The note paper was stamped with sentiments and hearts included in the stamp set. The hearts were with Kitsch Flamingo and Candied Apple. A black gel pen was used to loosely draw and outline around each of the hearts.

  • The card was finished off with the script to hello from the Vivid Script Sentiments and embellishments using black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

  • Speech Bubbles Die Set has 14 different shapes and sizes of speech bubbles. Each shape has a plain bubble and a larger stitched one. I have used them layered together, but they definitely could be used independently.

  • The plain bubbles were cut from white card stock while the stitched bubbles were cut from a variety of colours from the Colorwheel Cardstock; Poppy, Rainforest, Oceanside, Indigo and Acorn. The stitched bubble dies were also used to cut black sheet foam.

  • Several sentiments from the Speech Bubbles Stamp Set were stamped onto the white bubbles. The speech bubbles were assembled and then adhered randomly to an A2 sized dark gray card base.

  • The card was finished off with a variety of different shape die cuts using dies from Treat Yourself Gift Card Holder die set. They were cut out of card stock that coordinated with that of the stitched bubbles.
