Spellbinder’s Nailed It!

Hello fellow card makers! I have a cute card using the fun Nailed It! Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, from Spellbinder's Toolbox Collection. This image is so awesome and, although initially when I saw it my mind went to a masculine card, there are, of course, lots of handy gals out there that would appreciate this tool collection!

  • An oversized panel of Bristol Smooth card stock was ink blended using Distress Oxide Inks Barn Door, Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber and Carved Pumpkin.

  • The panel was foiled with the Nailed It! Glimmer Hot Foil Plate using Spellbinder's Hot Foil System and Gold Glimmer Hot Foil. The panel was oversized so a corner was used to also foil the sentiment. Because the glimmer plate has a fair amount of surface to be foiled, in addition to the plate and shim on the platform as it was rolled through the die cutter, a sheet of folded copy paper was included in the sandwich.

  • The panel was trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4" and mounted on a black matted, A2 sized card base.

  • The foiled sentiment was trimmed and mounted on black foam before being adhered to the card.

  • The 'congrats' sentiment from Outlined Sentiments was die cut from both black and gold mirror card stock. The sentiment was stacked offset on the card.

  • Nailed It! Glimmer Hot Foil Plate was foiled with Matte Silver Glimmer Hot Foil on red card stock.

  • The second largest plain oval die from Fluted Classics Ovals was used to cut the foiled panel and black sheet foam. They were stacked.

  • The largest fluted oval die was used to cut black card stock

  • The largest plain die was used to create an oval card base. Black card stock was scored and creased in half. The oval die was positioned so it would overhang a portion of the fold. This will ensure the fold is not die cut creating an oval card base.

  • The fluted oval was adhered to the card base followed by the the foam backed panel.

  • The foiled sentiment was trimmed and adhered to a slightly larger piece of black card stock.
