Spellbinder’s Peacock Paradise by Dawn Bibby Collection

Hello friends! Peacocks … extravagant colors, elaborate feathers, showy displays! I love these gorgeous birds and Spellbinders’ new collection, Peacock Paradise by Dawn Bibby, are featured in this 5” by 7” card … Glorious Peacock, Feather Flourish 3D Embossing Folder and Cameo Frames.

  • The background was created with Feather Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. Blue card stock was cut larger than the 5” by 7” size that would be needed. Because I was inking the panel and knew I would have to do it a couple of times, I used Post It Note Tape to secure it to the raised side of the folder. The flat side was inked with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet two times.

  • The top of the feathers were inked with Versa mark and embossed in silver.

  • The panel was spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter.

  • The panel was trimmed to 5” by 7” and adhered to a card base of the same size.

  • Sliver glitter from the Treasured Cardstock Silver Assortment was cut with the large frame die from Cameo Frames. The large oval die in this set was used to cut foam. The frame was stacked on the foam and the adhered to the card base.

  • Glorious Peacock consists of an outline die of the peacock, the detail die and several individual feathers. The outline die was used to cut purple card stock and detail die, indigo card stock.

  • The individual feathers were die cut about two times each also out of the indigo card stock. The tips of the feathers were lightly inked with Shaded Lilac.

  • White card stock was inked with Peacock Feathers. The tops of individual feathers and the tear drops at the bottom of the body were die cut from this and inlaid.

  • Aquamarine glitter was applied to the tips of the feathers . A dot detail was created with a Quickie Glue Pen at the base of the tear drops and glitter applied.

  • The detail die cut of the peacock was adhered to the purple base and the individual feathers were fanned around the top and underside of the body.

  • The eyes and tear drops on the feathers were coated with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. When dry, small iridescent black sequins were adhered to each of the tear drops and Morning Dew applied to them.
