Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Stitched Ladybug is a gorgeous die set from the Stitching Die of the Month. I love the frame dies with the delicate scalloped edges. Such a pretty detail! The centrepiece, the sweet pink ladybug (yes, pink ladybugs are a thing!), is nestled on a background of beautiful flowers created with Nature’s Frame, the Stencil of the Month.

The Stencil of the Month is a gorgeous floral wreath created with five stencils. The stencilling was done on cream coloured cardstock that was A2 sized.
Small blender brushes were used to apply Distress Oxide Inks. The main flowers were in with a combination of Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers. The smaller accent flowers were done in Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry. Black Soot was used for the flower centres and Rustic Wilderness for the foliage.
The frame in the Stitching Die of the Month consists of three dies. The smallest die with its fine scalloped edge was used to cut the centre of the panel and then it was trimmed to 4“ x 5 1/4“. This die was also used to cut black sheet foam. The panel was adhered to the foam and, after the adhesive was dry, the excess foam was trimmed off.
The foam back panel was it here to a black, A2 sized card base.
The three dies for the frame in the Stitching Die of the Month were used to cut black card stock. The ladybug was cut from a combination of black and pink. The two banner sentiments were cut from cream card stock.
The frame was stitched in a herringbone design with green embroidery thread, the stitching for the ladybug was tone on tone; pink thread on the wings and black for the rest.
Tombow adhesive was applied to the embroidered die cuts and left to dry until they were tacky.
The banner sentiments were adhered to the top and bottom of the oval.
After the ladybug was assembled, the frame was aligned to the oval opening, and the ladybug was adhered, centred in the oval, with black foam squares.
