Hello friends! It is time to reveal Spellbinder's Clubs of the Month! Always exciting! The theme is Christmas in July. I have two cards using The Stitching Die of the Month featuring Stitched Snowflake Cardfront. One of these cards also feature the Tiny Merriment Die Set that coordinates with this set.
The July "New Subscriber" registration window will be available July 6 - 27th while supplies last.
Stitched Snowflake Cardfront is a set of two dies; the snowflake and a background cover plate. The cover plate die was used to cut mint and turquoise card stock. The panels were adhered to A2 sized card bases.
The large snowflake was die cut once from white glitter card stock and the other from a soft blue. Sheet foam was also cut twice with this die.
The white glitter snowflake was stitched in metallic turquoise embroidery thread and the blue snowflake was done in white metallic thread.
When stacking the stitched elements to foam (or adhering them directly to card stock), I find it best to use Tombow glue. The back was dotted well with the adhesive and left to dry for several minutes until it is in its 'tacky state'. The stitched element will adhere beautifully to any surface and will be repositionable for a time.
The pattern on the background is absent where the snowflake is to be positioned. The foam backed snowflake was adhered to this area.
For the turquoise card, the triangular die cuts from the snowflake were recessed and adhered to the background. The stitching centre detail was replaced with a sentiment die from the Tiny Merriment Die Set that coordinates with this set. It was cut out of turquoise card stock and mounted on foam An additional sentiment from this set was also foam backed and adhered to the lower right hand corner of the card.
For the mint background card, the stitched centre detail was cut from the mint card stock and foam backed.
The sentiments from Outlined Christmas Sentiments were cut from both mint and white card stock and off set. They were then foam mounted. For tips on stacking fine die cuts on foam, check out the video for the BetterPress Plate of the Month HERE.
The mint card was embellished with clear blue crystals and the the turquoise card with soft blue pearls.
