Hello everyone! It is time to reveal Spellbinder's new Clubs of the Month! The Stitching Die of the Month, Enchanted Stitched Mushrooms, is absolutely gorgeous! As summer gives way to Autumn, it is time to cozy up and do some simple stitching. I love the pretty highlights the stitched details add to these sweet mushrooms.
The September "New Subscriber" registration window will be available September 6 - 27th while supplies last.
The edges of a panel of soft olive green card stock, 4 1/4" by 5 1/2", was lightly rubbed with the pad from a Versamark Embossing Ink Pad. The edges were then coated with gold embossing powder and it was melted with the heat tool. I embossed one side at a time.
The panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base.
Six leafy branches were die cut; two each from three shades of olive green card stock.
The leaves were arranged on the card front and adhered using liquid adhesive just on the central stem.
The large mushroom cap was cut from red and gold foil card stock. Scotch tape was placed on the back of the red cap and the gold spots were inlaid.
The cap from the small mushroom was cut from light olive green and the underbelly and stems for both mushrooms from brown card stock.
The stitching was done with gold metallic floss. I used scotch tape on the back of the element to begin and end my stitching to hold the thread in place.
The mushrooms were assembled and adhered to the card front nestled in the leaves. I like to use Tombow adhesive for my stitched elements. It was applied and left to dry until it is in its tacky state. I find using this adhesive does a couple of things. It ensures the thread is secure and it allows the element to lay pretty snug to the card front.
The sentiment was die cut from red card stock and adhered below the mushrooms.
The leaves were popped up with small Black Foam Adhesive Squares.
Fashion Gold Embellishments were used to complete this card.
