Spellbinder’s The Birds and Bees Garden Collection

Hello everyone! Spellbinder's THE BIRDS & BEES GARDEN COLLECTION BY SUSAN TIERNEY-COCKBURN is just so beautiful! I love the Garden Parasol and have filled it with flowers created with Aster Etched Die Set in a sweet birthday card.

  • Two different design sheets from Foiled Vellum 6 by 6 Paper Pad were adhered to double sided, sheet adhesive. One panel of vellum was trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4" and cut in half diagonally.

  • The backing paper was removed from the half diagonal sheet of vellum and it was adhered to cream card stock measuring 4" by 5 1/4". The panel was then mounted to an A2 sized, black card base.

  • The Garden Parasol main die was used to cut gold foil card stock and the second vellum sheet. The backing paper was removed from the vellum and it was adhered to gold foil die cut. The handle was cut from gold foil and foam

  • The foam backed parasol and handle were adhered to the card front.

  • The Aster Etched Die Set was used to create five blooms. The shaping was done with Susan's Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. The main petal was cut three times from coloured card stock for each flower. The petals were shaped simply by depressing the medium sized ball tool on the shaping foam at the base of the petals. The petals were layered, offsetting each of the three die cuts.

  • The petal centre cut from black card stock was shaped with the ball tool before it was adhered.

  • The little florets in the centre were cut from gold foil and depressed with the smallest ball tool. They were adhered to the centre in two layers to create a mound.

  • Happy Birthday from Everyday Sentiments was cut from the 2nd half of the diagonally cut, foiled vellum sheet, cream card stock and foam. The sentiment layers were stacked and adhered to the parasol.

  • The flowers and gold leaves were adhered to the upper portion of the parasol.

  • The card was embellished with gold confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
