Hello everyone! Spellbinder's Wax Seal of the Month, Merry Christmas To You, is so lovely with its beautiful, scripty message stamped in red wax that accompany the stamp in the club kit. I have paired it with the Holiday Blooms die set on a hot foiled background using Pine Sprays. Yes, I couldn't let my used foil go to waste so ended up making two cards ... a good excuse to stamp an additional wax seal!
The October "New Subscriber" registration window will be available October 6 - 27th while supplies last.
The wax seals were stamped on red wax using the Wax Seal of the Month and the Wax Seal Starter Kit. For a video tutorial on stamping seals, visit September's Wax Seal of the Month ... CLICK HERE. You will be directed to YouTube.
The script was highlighted with a gold fine tip felt pen.
The card backgrounds were foiled on ream card stock. One was foiled using Pine Sprays Hot Foil Plate. Not wanting to waste the foil with the design, it was reverse foiled.
To reverse foil, a Solid Rectangle Foiling Plate was placed on the Hot Foil System. The shiny side of the foil with the negative design was positioned face down on the solid rectangle plate with the ream card stock placed on top. Because of the large surface area being foiled, in addition to the foil plate and shim, I used a sheet of copy paper folded in half to run it through the die cutting machine.
The foiled panels were cut with the largest die in A2 Matting Basics nesting set. They were adhered to A2 sized card bases covered in dark green card stock.
Using Glimmer Solid Circle, a gold circle was foiled in gold. The foiled circle, cream card stock and white sheet foam were cut with a circle die. The two circles were stacked on the foam die cuts.
The gold circle was adhered in the upper 2/3 of the foiled panel and the cream circle on the one that was reverse foiled.
Using the Holiday Blooms die set, foliage was cut to create the wreaths. For each card, one set of branches was cut from the dark green card stock for the base layer and gold foil for the top layer.
The foliage was adhered around the edges of the foam backed circles. Adhesive was applied just along the central stem.
The wax seals was adhered in the centre of the wreath with Wax Seal Adhesive Circles
The banner sentiment from the Stitching Die of the Month was cut from both cream card stock and foam. The stacked sentiment was mounted below the Christmas tree.
The wreaths were finished off with red half pearls.
