Spellbinders’ BetterPress Plate of the Month for October with Video

Hello friends! I am totally in love with Spellbinders’ BetterPress of the Month, Design A Plaid. This registration press plate set is accompanied with a set of banner sentiments with a coordinating die that allows you to press and cut the five Christmas themed sentiments all at once. Check out the video for a couple of tips to create these awesome and versatile plaid backgrounds with ease!

The registration window for this club will be available October 6 for current Club Members. New registrations are accepted on the 10th of October. Registrations can be completed until October 27th or while supplies last.

  • The 4 plates to create the plaid design from the BetterPress of the Month, Design A Plaid were used with the BetterPress System. BetterPress Pebbles A2 Panels were taped to the platen with tape rolled up on the backside. I love the soft grey background with the colour palettes chosen for each card.

  • The registration template was taped to the magnetic platform. Check out the video for a tip!

  • The plates were positioned one or two at a time on the registration template and inked with Fresh Dye Inks.

  • For the pink panel, the following combinations were used: Minty Mint, Blush and Jade. A gold gel pen was used to draw in accent lines.

  • For the green panel, the plaid design was created with Silver Sage, Jade and Eucalyptus.

  • Minty Mint, Crimson and Silver Sage were used for the red panel.

  • The panels were adhered to A2 sized card bases.

  • The sweet bear was created using the Small Die of the Month. The bear’s sweater was cut from patterned paper included in the Oh Joyful Day 6X6 Paper Pad.

  • The bears’ sweaters and muzzle were mounted on foam die cuts.

  • Two strings of the large light set were cut from gold foil cardstock. The light bulbs were cut from two colours of cardstock to coordinate with each card. The coloured lights were alternated. After the lights were adhered, the bear was adhered to the card front.

  • The sentiments were pressed onto BetterPress Pebbles A2 Panels with BetterPress Black Ink. Both the sentiments and foam were cut with the coordinating die.

  • The stacked sentiments were adhered between the top of the bear’s head and the string of lights.

  • The light bulbs were highlighted with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
