Spellbinders’ Birthday Bash Collection

Hello friends! What kind of cards do you seem to need the most of? For me, it is birthday cards … lots and lots of birthday cards! Spellbinders’ Birthday Bash Collection by Simon Hurley is a fun collection of products to build up the birthday card stash! My card features Mylar Balloons,  Plaster 3D Embossing Folder and Birthday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates & Sentiments. Everything is fabulous but my fave is the embossing folder … so cool!

  • Pink card stock was embossed with the Plaster 3D Embossing Folder. The dimension is quite something! I enhanced it by rubbing a white pigment ink pad over the panel catching the high points.

  • The balloons include a shadow die for each one. These were cut from vellum paper.

  • The balloons were cut from two shades of pink and cream card stock. The dies were also use to cut white sheet foam.

  • Floating balloons were created by sandwiching the vellum shadow die cut between the balloon and the foam. The balloon string cut from gold card stock was adhered to the underside of the vellum shadow die cut before the layers were stacked.

  • When creating a floating element with vellum, I use Tombow adhesive. When it dries it is tacky and repositionable allowing the layers to be easily aligned. To see a floating element constructed outlining important tips, check out the fourth card in this video.

  • The sentiment from Birthday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates & Sentiments was foiled in gold on pink card stock. Both the sentiment and white sheet foam were cut with the coordinating die and stacked.

  • The foam backed balloons were adhered to the card front at angles to allow the strings to be tucked underneath the sentiment.

  • Each balloon was decorated with sequins finished off with small gold crystals.
