Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Copperplate Holiday Press Plates Sentiments Collection is gorgeous! These plates press holiday greetings in an elegant Copperplate script onto your card fronts. My cards feature Merry Christmas, Joy To The World & Peace On Earth. I have also included beautiful gift tags using the Copperplate Gift Tag Press Plates & Die Set. This set includes two word plates with a third plate that presses a sweet holly design and has a coordinating die. The set is completed with a beautiful tag die.
Both the cards and tags were letterpressed on Porcelain BetterPress A2 Panels. The panels were ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks and the letterpress was done with Black BetterPress Ink.
TIP: After the sentiments were pressed onto the cards, the press plates were laid on top to mask them and Splatter White was applied with a fan brush The splatter on the plates wipes off easily.
The Copperplate Merry Christmas panel was inked with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Cracklin’ Campfire and Black Soot. The large frame from the Cameo Frames die set was cut from gold glitter found in Treasured Card Stock Gold Assortment. It was adhered and the overhang trimmed off. The corner of the frame was finished off with an arrangement created with the Christmas Bird Poinsettia set. The flower centre was finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew
The Copperplate Peace On Earth panel was inked with Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, Villainous Potion and Black Soot. The large frame from the Cameo Frames die set was cut from gold mirror found in Treasured Card Stock Gold Assortment. It was adhered and the overhang trimmed off. The bottom of the frame was finished off with an arrangement created with the Christmas Bird Poinsettia set with lots of gold confetti!
The panel pressed with Copperplate Joy To The World was inked with Salvaged Patina, Cracked Pistachio, Rustic Wilderness and Black Soot. After the sentiment was letterpressed, the card was finished with a layered die cut bird from the Christmas Bird Poinsettia set. The trim of the hat and pompom were highlighted with Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White and clear confetti finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to round out the composition.
For the Copperplate Gift Tag Press Plates & Die Set, the ink blending was done with Villainous Potion, Candied Apple and Worn Lip stick. I used two pieces of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Panels and inked 1 1/2 panels. The tags were cut from the ink blended areas, lined up on the platen with the ‘TO’ & ‘FROM’ on the magnetic platform of the BetterPress Letterpress System and pressed. The holly was pressed three times on the plain portion of the remaining panel and Copic coloured with G28, 43 and Y28. Both holly and black sheet foam were cut with the coordinating die and stacked. The edge of the tag was rubbed with a Versamark ink pad and gold embossed. A gold tie was added and the holly adhered to the base of it. Gold confetti finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew completes the design.
