Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month for August

Hello everyone! Spellbinders’ Illustrated Floral and Solid is a gorgeous hot foil plate set. The solid foiled oval is a beautiful backdrop ready to be framed by the spray of flowers. I ended up making five cards! It was fun to experiment with different hot foil and card stock combinations. Fair warning … this set is addicting!

I played around foiling with the solid oval to get the best sandwich. In the end, I found using the plate, the plastic shim with two additional pieces of copy paper folded in half gave a nice result. On two occasions I did get a bit of overfoiling but was able to easily remove it with a light brushing using a sand eraser. The floral spray was foiled with only the plate and plastic shim. All of the card fronts were die cut with the second largest die from Matting Basics and mounted on foam. The card fronts were adhered to double matted, A2 sized card bases. The floral sprays and sentiments were also foam mounted.

The florals and sentiments in these cards were foiled with Aura Hot Foil. The sprays were coloured with Faber Castell coloured pencils. The oval on the pink card was foiled with Opal Hot Foil ... what a subtle and gorgeous effect. The other card with Skylight.

For the white card, the floral and sentiment were foiled with Aura Hot Foil. The oval was foiled with Moondust. Everything in the pink card was foiled with Silver Holographic Speckles Hot Foil. The sprays were Copic coloured.

My one ode to the coming of Autumn! Everything in this card was foiled with Copper Hot Foil. The spray was Copic coloured.
