Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Happy Hour Collection is so much fun! This card features Sunset In A Glass Die Set and Classy Glasses Press Plate & Stencil Bundle. The cocktail glass has been cut from vellum and ‘floats’ over the background for a light and frosty look … the perfect cocktail for a hot summer’s day!
Classy Glasses Press Plate was letterpressed with Cruise BetterPress Ink on a BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panel.
The coordinating stencil was used to color the cocktail in each glass with Distress Oxide Inks Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass and Iced Spruce followed by Versamark Ink. The panel was coated with clear embossing powder and melted with a heat tool giving the cocktail in each glass a sheen.
The panel and white sheet foam were cut with one of the dies from the Notched Corner Fames. The outside of the panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base. The small panel was mounted on the foam and also adhered to card base.
The glass from Sunset In A Glass was cut from white vellum.
Blue vellum was mounted on double sided sheet adhesive and the die for the cocktail was used to cut it.
Vellum and liquid adhesive do not play well together so sheet adhesive is a good choice! The interior of the glass is a separate piece from the frame. When the ’cocktail ‘is adhered to the back of the glass, it will hold these two pieces together.
The detail die that looks like a river in the cocktail was also used to cut blue vellum with double sided adhesive and also white foam. (All of the die cuts that come into direct contact with the vellum were adhered with either the double sided sheet adhesive or Tombow glue. When using the glue, it was left to dry. It will be tacky and repositionable.) The vellum detail was adhered on top of the glass and the foam to the underside of it. It is easy to see the outline of the vellum to align the two die cuts.
Cheers Sentiments Press Plate & Die was letterpressed with Cruise BetterPress Ink on BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panels using black ink. All of the sentiments will be stamped at once and cut with the coordinating die. The die was also used to cut foam.
The two sentiments used were adhered to the glass and the foam die cut to the back of the glass. For the sentiment sitting over the stem of the glass, the foam was trimmed off in this area.
