Spellbinders’ Home For The Holidays Collection

Hello friends! I have a number of cards to share with you created with Spellbinders’ Home For The Holidays Collection. Color Mix Joy & Color Mix Merry are registration press plate sets. Night & Day Pines Press Plates Is a favourite of mine with two press plates; one stamps the positive image and the other the negative. So cool! All three press plate sets are perfect for quick and easy cards! Perfect for mass producing! The last product is a traditional Santa done up in not so tradional colours … St. Nick Die Set. This is just a sampling of what can be found in this amazing collection! Be sure to check it out!

Night & Day Pines Press Plates Is a two piece cover plate set. The two cards were created side by side. Panels of Bristol Smooth Card Stock were ink blended with Pawsitively Saturated Inks Aspen, Sage and Pine. When applying ink to large surfaces, I prefer to use blending tools rather brushes. I began in the centre with the lightest tone workin outwards with the two darker ones to create a gradient. The panels were stamped with the press plates using the BetterPress Letterpress System. The panels were trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4” and spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter using a fan brush. The sentiments from Christmas Greetings Die Set were foam mounted. The silver glitter matting and sentiments are from the Treasured Card Stock Silver Assortment. A small adornment of pine die cuts from Christmas Bird Poinsettia, bow from Christmas Wonder and Pink Opalescent Sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew complete the cards.

The registration template and multiple plates included with the  Color Mix Joy and the Color Mix Merry allow for different ink colors to be used on the image. Using the BetterPress Letterpress System, three cards were created quickly and easily playing with the different ink colours found in Flower Garden, Nature Tones, Desert Sunset and Regal Tones BetterPress Ink Sets. The modern colour design was enhanced by stamping the images on coloured card stock. Two of the panels were cut with a die from the Notched Corner Frames die set.

I adore the St. Nick Die Set! This set comes with two hats! The taller one makes a Santa perfect for a slimline card! The die cuts are easily assembled but I found it best to ‘dry’ layer all of the die cuts first rather than adhering as you go. This is particularly true for the head with all of its layered pieces. The pink coat and hat were embossed with Holly Flourish Embossing Folder. The trim on the coat, hat and the pompom were coated with Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White. The gold accents and background are from Treasured Card Stock Gold Assortment … a gorgeous collection of metallic card stock! The sentiment is from the Christmas Greetings Die Set. Both the sentiment and Santa were popped up on the card front with foam.
